Yellow alert issued for winds and storms in three Argentine provinces

In the Patagonia region, northeastern Santa Cruz and southwestern Chubut are bracing for strong westerly winds. The SMN forecasts speeds between 45-65 km/h, with gusts that could surpass 110 km/h in higher elevations and around 100 km/h in lower areas. The strong winds are expected to raise dust, potentially reducing visibility. Authorities are advising residents to follow official guidance, minimize non-essential travel, secure loose objects, and avoid seeking shelter near unstable structures.

These events may bring substantial rainfall in short periods, frequent lightning, occasional hail, and wind gusts reaching up to 70 km/h. Accumulated rainfall could range between 50 and 80 millimeters, with localized areas possibly exceeding this amount. Residents in Corrientes are urged to stay indoors, clear drainage systems, and disconnect electrical appliances if water enters their homes. The SMN also provided a general weather outlook for Buenos Aires and other regions, indicating moderate temperatures and partly cloudy skies for the capital, with similar conditions expected in the province of Buenos Aires.
