Yeosu World Island Expo One Month Away, Exhibition Construction Nears Completion

With just one month until its September 5 opening, the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo is entering its final preparation phase. Organizers have announced that the construction of the main exhibition halls is nearing completion, allowing the focus to shift towards exhibition staging, system testing, and crucial transportation and safety inspections.

The expo, themed 'Island, Connecting the Sea and Future,' is poised to be a landmark event as the world's first international expo dedicated to islands. It will run for 61 days, from September 5 to November 4. To date, 34 organizations have confirmed their participation, including 31 overseas local governments and three international bodies like WHO and UNICEF.

The main venue on Dolsan's Jinmo district will feature eight exhibition halls, including 'Theme Island,' 'Future Island,' 'Marine Ecology Island,' 'Culture Island,' 'Treasure Island,' and 'International Exchange Island.' Visitors can anticipate immersive experiences, such as a 360-degree media facade at the Theme Island, displays of future marine technology at Future Island, and interactive content for children at Treasure Island.
