Yogyakarta Battered by Heavy Rain and Strong Winds, Causing Widespread Damage

Yogyakarta experienced a significant weather event on Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 2026, as heavy rains and strong winds swept through the region. Key areas affected included Gondokusuman and Jetis districts in Yogyakarta City. On Jalan Sunaryo, an uprooted tree downed telephone and power lines, completely obstructing the road.
