Young families can apply for support to buy their first home

Young families will be able to apply for financial assistance to buy their first home beginning September 14 at 9 a.m. Applications will remain open until noon on September 18.

The call offers about 6 million euros. Eligible applicants include married couples, registered partners, and single parents under 36. Parents can be up to 40 if they have a third child and are applying for additional support.

Applicants generally must not own a home. Exceptions apply when an existing home has deteriorated by more than 60 percent or provides no more than 14 square meters per person. The home being purchased cannot cost more than 120,000 euros and must be located in an area covered by the program.

The amount of assistance depends on the number of children. Families without children or with one child can receive 10 percent, families with two children can receive 12.5 percent, and families with three or more children can receive 15 percent. The housing loan used to calculate the support cannot exceed 87,000 euros.

Applications can be submitted through a municipality, by registered mail, or through SPIS, the electronic application system.
