Young man injured in machete attack in Ahome; Fiscalía investigates new assault in Sinaloa

A violent machete attack in Agua Nueva, Ahome, has left a 27-year-old man, identified as Víctor Arturo “N,” with a serious head wound. The assault reportedly occurred when a relative of a woman he had been socializing with attacked him as he was saying goodbye.

Public security officials were alerted to the victim's arrival at a hospital in Los Mochis with a severe head injury. They gathered evidence and testimonies at the scene. Víctor Arturo “N,” a resident of El Campito, was reportedly attacked with a machete by the young woman's relative while they were parting ways after an outing.

Despite the victim's attempts to dodge the blows, he sustained a significant twelve-centimeter gash to his head. Neighbors of the woman he was with provided assistance and transported him to the hospital.

The State Attorney General's Office has been notified of this violent incident. Machetes, while common tools in agriculture, are prohibited from being carried outside of work hours and agricultural fields. This case adds to a disturbing pattern, as another machete attack occurred on the beaches of Las Salinas in Ahome on June 8, where a minor was assaulted by two individuals on a motorcycle.
