Young man severely beaten at Lithuanian party; MMA fighter allegedly involved

A violent incident at a party in Druskininkai, Lithuania, has led to a severe assault on a young man, leaving him with extensive facial injuries. Information circulating on social media, particularly from a Telegram group, describes the victim being choked, beaten, and spat upon by several local youths.

Reports indicate the victim was overwhelmed and unable to resist during the attack, which allegedly included blows to the head with an elbow. The graphic images of the victim's condition following the assault have surfaced online, with some sources suggesting the injuries were so severe that "it was a close call" for his life. One of the alleged assailants is reportedly an MMA fighter.

The conflict reportedly began after the victim allegedly provoked individuals at the party and insulted a young woman. He was asked to leave but refused, which may have escalated the situation. The incident occurred last weekend, and the victim, born in 2008, sought medical attention for his injuries.

Druskininkai police confirmed they received a report from the hospital regarding the injured man on July 18. Due to the severity of his condition, he was transferred to Kaunas clinics for further examination. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Article 138 of the Lithuanian Criminal Code, pertaining to causing bodily harm, pending the official medical conclusion on the extent of his injuries. Authorities are currently gathering and analyzing information to clarify the circumstances of the event, and no suspects have been formally charged yet.
