Young Man Stabbed with Broken Glass in Bucharest Sector 5; Assailant Detained

A violent incident in Bucharest's Sector 5 has resulted in a 24-year-old man being stabbed with a broken glass bottle. The victim had reportedly intervened to protect his father during an escalating conflict between two men with a history of disagreements.

From the initial checks, it emerged that, on the grounds of older disagreements, a verbal conflict broke out between two men, aged 43 and 40 respectively. In this context, the 40-year-old man allegedly directed threats of violence at him and broke a bottle, intending to assault him.

The altercation, which occurred Friday evening near Șoseaua Alexandriei, involved a 40-year-old suspect and a 43-year-old man. According to police reports, the dispute turned physical when the 40-year-old allegedly made threats and broke a bottle with the intent to assault. The victim, the son of the 43-year-old, stepped in to defend his father and sustained a stab wound to the left side of his abdomen.

The son of the 43-year-old man, aged 24, intervened to protect his father, and during the altercation, he was allegedly stabbed by the 40-year-old man with a glass object in the left lateral area of the abdomen, suffering an injury.

Emergency medical services provided initial aid to the injured man before transporting him to the hospital for further treatment. The suspect and the victim's father were taken to the police station for questioning. The 40-year-old suspect has been detained for 24 hours and will face judicial authorities. Police are continuing their investigation into the assault and public order offenses under the supervision of the Sector 5 Prosecutor's Office.
