Young Volunteers Repair Homes, Provide Health Insurance Cards and Aid to Residents in Need

Community groups in several parts of Ho Chi Minh City have joined forces to repair unsafe homes, provide health insurance and deliver support to residents facing hardship.

In Hiep Phuoc, the local Vietnam Fatherland Front committee worked with the Youth Union, Farmers’ Association, military command and other units to hand over a repaired solidarity house to Nguyen Thi Cam Hong’s family in Nhon Duc Hamlet. The project cost 25 million Vietnamese dong.

The construction faculty of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Bach Tuyet Paint Joint Stock Company and members of Hiep Phuoc’s Good Farmers Club supported the work alongside the commune’s regular militia.

In Binh Tay Ward, local civic and social organizations, together with the management and use committee for the For the Poor Fund, handed over another repaired home to Huynh Lien Hoa’s family in Neighborhood 7 on Le Quang Sung Street. The 48 million dong project addressed a deteriorating metal roof, a low floor and unsafe kitchen and bathroom areas. The family belongs to the ward’s near-poor household group. Work began in late July and finished after about a month.

An Dong Ward also held Social Welfare Day 2026 in Neighborhood 16. The neighborhood presented appreciation gifts to 20 core members involved in local activities and movements. It also distributed health insurance cards and 100 welfare packages to disadvantaged households, with a combined value of nearly 38 million dong.
