Young woman found dead with stab wounds near Chiapas-Guatemala border

A 28-year-old woman, identified as Yoana Magali Hernández Díaz, was discovered dead on Thursday along a road connecting Ciudad Hidalgo to the ejido Ignacio López Rayón, near the border with Guatemala. Official sources reported that the victim was found with three stab wounds to her neck, back, and thorax in a cornfield a short distance from the Suchiate River, which marks the border between Mexico and Guatemala.

Police arrived at the scene, where traces of blood and a black backpack were found near the body. Local residents reported that a man approached the young woman before fleeing the scene after committing the feminicide.
