YouTube TV now lets you watch four live streams at once

YouTube TV has enhanced its Multiview feature, enabling users to watch up to four live streams concurrently on one screen. This update significantly expands the platform's offering, providing users with unprecedented flexibility in customizing their viewing experience.

Previously, Multiview was limited to pre-defined combinations, primarily centered around sports events. The new iteration, announced by YouTube CEO on April 28, 2026, grants users the freedom to choose any compatible live content to combine. Activating the feature is straightforward: users can select a live stream on their smart TV or streaming device, press the down arrow on their remote to access options, and choose 'Add to Multiview.' From there, they can select up to three additional streams.

Audio control is also integrated, allowing users to switch between the streams by highlighting the desired window using the directional pad on their remote. An audio icon indicates which stream is currently playing. Users can switch to full-screen mode for any selected view and return to the Multiview layout at any time.

The Multiview system is accessible on YouTube TV applications for smart TVs and streaming players like Roku, Google TV, and Apple TV. While most devices support the full customization, a small percentage of older devices may only offer a basic version focused on major events like the NFL or World Cup. It is important to note that this feature is exclusively for live content; recordings or on-demand videos cannot be added. The new selection menu organizes content by categories such as Recommended, Sports, News, Movies, and Series, simplifying the process of finding and combining up to four active streams.
