Yovie Widianto says loyalty is the key to Kahitna’s 40-year survival

For Yovie Widianto, the most beautiful part of Kahitna’s 40-year journey is not simply the songs. It is the loyalty of the fans who have stayed with the Indonesian band throughout four decades.

Widianto, Kahitna’s musician and founder, spoke during the “KAHITNA 40 TAHUN” anniversary concert at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition in Jakarta. In front of thousands of viewers, he described the milestone as deeply moving and thanked the band’s fans, known as Soulmate.

“For me and my Kahitna colleagues, today is very special. I can’t believe it has been 40 years. I feel that it is not about people saying the songs are good or beautiful, but that the most beautiful thing is all of your loyalty. Thank you,” Widianto said.

He also highlighted the people working behind the stage. Kahitna still has the same manager, while some crew members have worked with the group for decades. Their service ranges from 15 to 40 years, Widianto said. He described the love of the team and the band’s friends as a foundation of Kahitna’s strength, alongside the music itself.

The concert carried the theme “Between the Irreplaceable Cantik and the Lowest Point of Mantan Terindah.” RAN, Tiara Andini, Monita Tahalea, Arsy Widianto and Niki Becker joined the anniversary performance. Widianto said the support of fellow musicians and fans had helped Kahitna continue its journey with listeners, whose lives have included the band’s songs through different stages.
