Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim is making a comeback to the Malaysian music scene with his new solo album, "Eternal," after a 23-year absence. The album, featuring six new tracks, marks a departure from the R&B and Hip Hop genres he championed with his group KRU, venturing into Rock music.

Yusry explained that the decision to release a solo album came about during the 2025 New Year's celebration in Sarawak when Sony Music inquired about a solo project. He felt that KRU's concert the previous year was sufficient, and the timing for "Eternal" felt right. He emphasized that his decision to explore a different genre was a way to respect KRU, as he could not pursue such diverse styles while in the group.

I thought it was enough for KRU to come out with a concert last year. Somehow, fortune is indeed in the right place and the timing was suitable, so I decided to release Eternal.

The most significant challenge in creating "Eternal" was selecting the six songs from a large pool of unreleased material. Yusry mentioned that he had been holding onto many songs and decided to produce these six with the help of both new and established composers, aiming to provide them with an opportunity to gain recognition.
