Zagreb Bus Routes to Change Saturday Evening for National Guard Corps Anniversary

This Saturday, May 23rd, commuters in Zagreb will need to be aware of temporary changes to several bus routes originating from the Main Bus Station. The ZET (Zagreb Electric Tram) public transport company has announced that these reroutes are necessary to accommodate the commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the formation of the National Guard Corps, an important event for Croatia's national identity and defense history.

The event will take place near the city fountains on Ulica Hrvatske bratske zajednice, and the affected period is from 5:30 PM to 11 PM. During these hours, specific bus lines, including 166, 220, 221, 229, 234, 241, 242, 243, 268, 310, and 311, will follow a modified route. They will proceed from Glavni kolodvor onto Ulica grada Vukovara, then turn right onto Avenija Marina Držića, followed by a right turn onto Slavonska avenija, and finally a left turn onto Avenija Većeslava Holjevca before continuing on their regular routes. The return journeys will also utilize the same detour.

From 5:30 PM to 11 PM, the bilateral bus stops Lisinski, N.S.knjižnica, and Trnjanska Savica will not be in service.

Additionally, bus line 218 will take a slightly different detour, and line 281 will also be affected in both directions. Crucially, passengers should note that the bus stops at Lisinski, N.S.knjižnica, and Trnjanska Savica will be temporarily out of service. ZET has apologized for any inconvenience and kindly requests understanding from its users. While this is a logistical announcement for daily commuters, it underscores the ongoing commemorations of significant historical events in Croatia, reflecting the nation's pride in its defense forces.
