Zagreb Cafe's Generous Gesture Delights Thousands of Pilgrims

A heartwarming gesture by a Zagreb cafe has resonated with thousands of pilgrims and social media users. Burekdžilica, a cafe located on Ilica street, offered free "mantije" to participants of the 8th Antunovo youth walk as they passed through the city.

The act of kindness was captured on video and widely shared on TikTok, showing pilgrims gratefully accepting the pastries from the cafe's staff. The footage depicts participants thanking the hosts and responding with applause, while cheers of "Bravo!" could be heard from the crowd. The video quickly garnered numerous positive reactions and comments from users praising the caterers' generosity.

This year's Antunovo youth walk saw the participation of several thousand individuals. The pilgrims began their journey after a mass in Dubrava, proceeding towards the city center and then continuing along Ilica towards the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua in Sveti Duh. The surprise treat from Burekdžilica was a welcome sight for many on their long walk.
