Zagreb crowns four European champions in gymnastics apparatus finals

The European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb has concluded its apparatus finals, crowning new European champions across various disciplines. Russia's Angelina Melnikova added another gold medal to her collection by winning the vault event.

Germany's Helen Kevrić impressed with a winning performance on the uneven bars, securing the gold medal. The balance beam title went to France's Elena Colas, a 16-year-old who also earned a bronze in the all-around competition earlier in the championships. Italy's Manila Esposito claimed the floor exercise gold.

Melnikova, already a winner in the all-around and team events, delivered a strong vault performance that set a high standard for her competitors. Germany's Karina Schoenmaier took silver, and Belgium's Lisa Vaelen secured bronze on vault. Kevrić's victory on uneven bars was notable, with Italy's Elisa Iorio and Giulia Perotti taking silver and bronze, respectively.

Elena Colas, competing in her first senior championship, demonstrated remarkable talent by winning the balance beam. She narrowly defeated Manila Esposito, who had previously won gold in the all-around and was the defending European champion on beam. Esposito later secured gold on floor exercise, with Colas earning silver and Melnikova taking bronze, marking her fifth medal of the championships.
