Zdravko Mamić loses one of the most important people in his life: His mother dies at 96

Lucija Mamić, the mother of former Dinamo Zagreb executives Zdravko and Zoran Mamić, has died at the age of 96. The news was confirmed by Tomislav Marčinko, a former member of Dinamo's executive board and a long-time family friend, who shared a photo of Zdravko Mamić with his mother, including their birth and death years, on Instagram and Facebook.

Zdravko Mamić, who is currently a fugitive from Croatian justice residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the former head of Dinamo Zagreb. His brother, Zoran Mamić, is a former player, coach, and sporting director of the club and now works for FK Sarajevo. Both brothers have been convicted of embezzlement and economic crimes related to Dinamo.

Lucija Mamić was a prominent figure in her sons' lives. Zdravko Mamić had previously shared an emotional anecdote about his mother during a TV interview on Face TV, where he became tearful. He recounted his mother's words, "Son, your mother will not die until I meet you," and mentioned that she had celebrated her birthday with family in Zagreb shortly before her passing.

The Mamić family moved to Croatia in 1956. Zdravko Mamić named one of his daughters Lucija, in honor of his mother, underscoring her importance in his life. Lucija Mamić was married to Josip Mamić.
