ZEIT's 'Germany Speaks' initiative fosters dialogue on controversial topics, including AI's risks

In an effort to bridge divides and encourage understanding, the ZEIT platform "Deutschland spricht" (Germany Speaks) facilitates direct conversations between individuals holding differing opinions. This initiative seeks to foster dialogue by bringing together people who do not share the same viewpoints for personal, one-on-one discussions. The project, which requires participants to register, is scheduled to take place on August 30 this year. The conversations are structured around eight specific questions addressing controversial subjects. Examples of these questions include whether the state should prohibit social media for individuals under 16, if Germany should continue to rely on the United States, and the central question of whether artificial intelligence poses a danger to humanity.
