Zhan Weizhong supports Wu-hsiung, wishes for safe return to Taiwan, then quietly deletes post

Taiwanese entertainer Alice Tsai, formerly known as Wu-hsiung, was arrested in Japan after allegedly pouring oil on a national treasure at Yakushi-ji Temple in Nara. The incident occurred prior to her arrest on August 22nd upon entering the country.

In the wake of the controversy, Taiwanese fortune teller Zhan Weizhong posted a message on his Facebook page on August 24th, expressing his hope for Tsai's safe return to Taiwan. Zhan articulated his belief in the universality of faith, comparing religious devotion to a vast ocean that welcomes all rivers, regardless of their origin. He emphasized the common thread of reverence and pursuit of life's mysteries found across different spiritual practices.

The essence of religion, to me, is like a vast ocean, never rejecting any river that flows into it. Whether it's the piety of looking up at the cross or the clarity of observing the lotus, that reverence and pursuit of life's mysteries are essentially common in the depths of the soul. I have always believed that freedom of faith is the gentlest nourishment for the soul.

Zhan's post concluded with his personal experiences visiting various religious sites worldwide, stating that he felt profound respect and emotion in each. He explicitly wished for Tsai's safe return to Taiwan.

However, by the morning of August 25th, Zhan's post was found to have been deleted. It is speculated that the deletion may have been a response to negative comments or criticism from netizens regarding his supportive message for Tsai, given the nature of her alleged offense.
