0-2: Athletic revive their season at Balaídos

Athletic Club needed only two minutes to expose Celta Vigo's defensive problems. Álex Berenguer struck in the 20th minute, and Robert Navarro added a second in the 22nd as Athletic took control at Balaídos.

The score could have been more damaging for Celta. Ionut Radu produced a series of saves, denying Oihan Sancet, Iñaki Williams and other Athletic attacks. His performance stood out as the clearest positive for a home side that had conceded twice against Osasuna in its previous match.

Celta briefly threatened before Athletic's burst, with Williot Swedberg forcing a save from Unai Simón. Jørgen Strand Larsen? No, Jutglà later hit the crossbar with a header, but the home team's first-half performance drew whistles from the Balaídos crowd.

Claudio Giráldez responded with four changes at halftime, and Celta began to dominate possession. Athletic still created the better chance after the break, when Sancet missed an opportunity to make it 3-0. Celta pushed forward and Iago Aspas brought greater clarity to the attack, but the hosts could not produce the goal they needed. Athletic held on for a deserved clean-sheet victory.
