FC Porto secured their 25th Portuguese Super Cup title by defeating second-division side Torreense 1-0 in a match marked by Torreense's surprising resilience. The game took place at the Municipal Stadium of Coimbra.

Torreense, who had sensationally won the Portuguese Cup in the previous season, started the match assertively. Colombian Luis Quintero led their high press, and Javi Vázquez was central to their dangerous plays. Porto weathered an initial 15-minute onslaught before gradually taking control of the game.

The decisive moment arrived in the 38th minute when Danish player Victor Froholdt scored with a header in the penalty area, giving Porto the lead. Despite Porto's dominance in the second half, Torreense continued to push for an equalizer. Their efforts were thwarted in the final moments by Porto's Alan Varela, who timely intervened to block a striker who was clear on goal against goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

With the Super Cup secured, FC Porto now shifts its focus to defending its Liga Portugal title, beginning next Sunday against Alverca. Meanwhile, Torreense will compete in the Europa League and aim for promotion to the top division.
