La data de 24 aprilie a.c., în jurul orei 17:00, Inspectoratul de Poliție Județean Olt a fost sesizat, prin apel 112, cu privire la faptul că, pe strada Depozitelor, din municipiul Slatina, a avut loc un eveniment rutier.

The street had been closed to traffic an hour prior to the accident, a measure intended to facilitate the ongoing roadworks. However, this precaution did not prevent the fatal encounter. The vehicle involved was a large tonnage vehicle, driven by a 53-year-old man whose alcohol test came back negative. The police have opened a criminal investigation into potential charges of manslaughter and violations of workplace health and safety regulations.
