2027: Bauchi PDP Leaders Back APM and Seek Date for Defection

Peoples Democratic Party leaders and stakeholders from wards, local governments and the state level in Bauchi have announced that they intend to leave the party for the Allied Peoples Movement.

The declaration came during a meeting at the Old Banquet Hall of the Bauchi State Government House. Participants reaffirmed their support for the APM and its candidates in the 2027 elections, while asking Governor Bala Mohammed to set a date for their formal defection.

PDP Deputy Chairman Falalu Attah said the meeting was convened by the party leadership to plan support for all APM candidates in the coming elections. State PDP Chairman Samaila Adamu Burga said Mohammed’s achievements were linked to the PDP and called for support for the governor and APM candidates to ensure continuity and good governance.

Burga also praised Mohammed’s efforts to sustain the PDP, while saying party members would support the APM candidates for the state’s continued growth and development. State Secretary Bakoji Aliyu Bobo said the decision reflected what the group considered the best interests of the political system.

Bobo said the group would visit communities across Bauchi to mobilise support for APM candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
