2027: Kwara APC chair mocks opposition over internal crises

Kwara State's All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, has sharply criticized opposition parties, highlighting their ongoing internal conflicts regarding governorship candidates for the 2027 elections. Fagbemi asserted that while the APC has successfully finalized its candidate selection process, other parties remain entangled in disputes over candidate emergence, even after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released its timetable. He made these remarks during visits to communities in Kwara South, including Ilemona, Erin-Ile, and Offa. These visits were intended to express gratitude to party members for their unwavering support and commitment during the recent primaries, which saw the selection of candidates for various elective positions, including governorship candidate Mr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi. Fagbemi emphasized the loyalty of the Kwara South residents to the APC, which he credited for the successful primaries. The delegation, including the APC governorship and other candidates, also paid respects to traditional rulers in the area, seeking their blessings and acknowledging their contributions to peace and democratic development. The Onipe of Ipe, Oba Mufutau Lawal, speaking for the traditional rulers, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for significant developmental achievements and urged the APC candidates to fulfill the trust placed in them if elected. Oba Lawal reaffirmed the region's support for the APC and pledged commitment to the party's candidates.
