2027: Kwara PDP dissolves all caucuses

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved all party caucuses in the state's 16 local government areas as part of a strategic repositioning effort for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This decision was made by the State Executive Committee and other key stakeholders during a recent meeting with party leader and former Senate President Bukola Saraki.

According to PDP State Publicity Secretary Olusegun Adewara, the dissolution marks the commencement of a comprehensive reorganization of the party's structures. The move is intended to refresh existing frameworks, introduce new personnel, and expand member participation. The PDP aims to create a more effective and inclusive political machinery capable of securing electoral victories at all levels in 2027.

Adewara stated that the decision was within the State Executive Committee's powers to undertake measures necessary for strengthening and reorganizing the party. "The journey towards 2027 has effectively commenced, and the party considers it necessary to refresh its structures, bring in new hands, broaden participation and create a more effective and inclusive political machinery capable of delivering victory for the PDP at all levels," he said.

The party expressed gratitude to the members of the dissolved caucuses for their dedication and contributions, emphasizing that the dissolution is not a rejection of their past efforts. Mechanisms for constituting and inaugurating new caucuses are currently being established across the 16 local government areas. This development occurs as political parties in Kwara State intensify preparations and internal realignments for the 2027 elections.
