30,000 Red and White Cooperatives Formed, Target 40,000 This Year

Indonesia has successfully established 30,000 Village/Kelurahan Red and White Cooperatives (KDMP), with a target to reach 40,000 units by the end of this year. Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono announced the progress, noting that the government aims to have 40,000 KDMP operational by year-end.

Juliantono indicated that President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate the KDMP in August. He highlighted that this year's National Cooperative Day serves as a momentum to strengthen the cooperative movement through existing cooperatives and the newly formed KDMP, which are now entering their operational phase.

The peak of the National Cooperative Day commemoration will be held at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on July 12, 2026, expecting around 20,000 participants and attendance from President Prabowo Subianto.

Until the end of this year (target) 40,000. Yes, (KDMP that) is ready. Later in August, God willing, the President will inaugurate.

Following the operationalization of KDMP and their demonstrated benefits to the community, the government intends to encourage cooperatives to bolster their involvement in the production, distribution, industry, and credit sectors. This initiative aims to further integrate cooperatives into key economic activities.
