40 MARA-sponsored Malaysian students graduate in Moscow

Forty Malaysian students, sponsored by the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), have achieved a significant milestone by graduating with degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI).

Their success was made even more special by the presence of approximately 38 families who traveled more than 8,000 kilometers to Moscow, Russia, to celebrate this historic moment. These families sacrificed financially to witness their children receive their degrees during the graduation ceremony on July 23.

Norizal Razali, a representative of the parents, described the event as a symbol of academic success, parental sacrifice, love, and unwavering support for children studying abroad. "Despite coming from various states and backgrounds, we were united by one goal: to celebrate the success of our children who have graduated in high-tech fields abroad," he said.

During their four years in Russia, the students faced numerous challenges, including adapting to extreme weather, language barriers, different cultures, and a distinct learning system, in addition to mastering Aeronautical Engineering. The graduation ceremony served as a testament to the capabilities of Malaysian youth to compete and excel internationally when provided with adequate opportunities and support. It also underscores the effectiveness of MARA's Young Talent Development Programme (YTP) in nurturing skilled graduates who can contribute to Malaysia's aerospace, aviation, and technology industries, aligning with the nation's aspiration for global human capital development.
