8th Pharmacy Forum: Pharmacist, a Key Link in the Therapeutic Journey

Tunis, the vibrant capital, recently hosted the 8th Forum de l’Officine and the 7th Digital Health Forum, a significant gathering for our nation's pharmaceutical sector. Organized by the Tunisian Union of Community Pharmacists (STPO) under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, this event underscored the critical and expanding role of pharmacists in Tunisia's healthcare landscape.

Zoubeir Guiga, president of the STPO, articulated a strategic vision, emphasizing that pharmacists are no longer just dispensers of medicine. They are integral to ensuring the safety of therapeutic pathways and maintaining a stable supply chain, a crucial function in today's complex geopolitical climate. This perspective resonates deeply within Tunisia, where accessible and reliable healthcare is a national priority.

The forum's success, drawing over 5,000 pharmacists from across the country, as noted by vice-president Malika Mdider, demonstrates the profession's commitment to evolution. The collaborative environment, bringing together public and private industries, international partners, distributors, doctors, and veterinarians, is vital for building a robust national health sovereignty. This synergy is uniquely Tunisian, reflecting our dedication to equitable access to treatments and modernizing our health system.

Adopting the innovative 'One Health' approach, the scientific program delved into current Tunisian realities and future challenges, particularly concerning digital acceleration and global economic shifts. This forward-looking perspective, supported by key institutions like the Order of Pharmacists and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Monastir, positions Tunisia at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation in the region. The emphasis on national challenges and tailored solutions distinguishes our approach from generic international discussions.
