A split-second reflex prevented a tragedy: Samsun security guard recalls the rescue

A security guard in Samsun rescued a girl moments after she ran onto a tram track while trying to cross the line. Security cameras captured the incident second by second.

Muhammet Lafçı said the girl immediately brought his own daughter to mind. “At that moment, my own daughter came to mind, and I risked my life to save her,” he said.

Lafçı added that he felt relieved that the girl was safe, though the incident left him visibly shaken. “My hands and feet were trembling,” he said. The girl was not injured.
