A Sudden Turn in the Weather: Heat Returns to Poland

Poland is in for a sharp change in the weather. Monday will remain relatively moderate, but by Tuesday temperatures in many regions could climb to 28°C, 29°C, and locally 30°C.

The country is under the influence of a high-pressure system centered near Slovakia and southwestern Ukraine. Warmer polar maritime air is moving in from the west, while northern Europe remains under a low-pressure system near the Faroe Islands and its associated fronts.

Monday will bring moderate to considerable cloud cover, with a chance of passing rain in the north. Highs will range from 16°C to 18°C in the northeast and locally in the Carpathian foothills, and from 19°C to 22°C elsewhere. Overnight temperatures will fall to 10°C to 13°C, with around 8°C possible in parts of Podlaskie and the Carpathian foothills.

Tuesday will be warmest in the south, where temperatures may locally reach 30°C. The north is expected to see 23°C to 24°C, while central areas and the foothills may reach about 26°C. Suwałki region and the coast will remain cooler, at about 21°C. Showers may occur in the west and center, mainly in the afternoon. Gusts could reach 60 km/h at higher elevations in the Carpathians and Sudetes.

In Warsaw, Monday's high is forecast at 20°C, followed by 26°C on Tuesday. Air pressure at noon on Monday is expected to stand at 1,012 hPa and fall during the day.
