Aceh Village Student Wins Full Scholarship to Study in China

Shilva Zohra, a student from Julok Tunong village in East Aceh, has won a full scholarship to continue her education at Hefei Normal University in China.

The achievement followed a selection and scholarship application process that Shilva handled independently. Her persistence and commitment to study secured her a Letter of Acceptance and a place in the university’s Predegree 1+4 program for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This achievement is the result of Shilva Zohra’s hard work and struggle throughout the process of gaining the opportunity to continue her education in China.

The program includes one year of preparation, with intensive Mandarin study, followed by four years of undergraduate education. Shilva has also received a summons from the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta as she prepares for the next stage of her studies.

Shilva was born on April 10, 2008, and is a 12th-grade student at Cut Nyak Dhien Langsa Excellent High School. She lives in Kuta Binjei. Her mother, Zahara, said the scholarship reflected her daughter’s hard work throughout the selection process.

School principal Muhammad Rizky said Shilva’s success showed that students from Aceh could compete internationally. He also said the school’s foreign-language programs and teaching approach encouraged students to pursue educational opportunities abroad.
