The Imole Campaign Council has firmly refuted claims that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke intends to switch allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The council characterized Adeleke's recent meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a standard political tradition, particularly following the conclusion of an off-cycle election.

In a statement, the council's Chairman of Media and Publicity Committee, Rep. Bamidele Salam, emphasized that governors who win elections have a duty to pay respects to the President. He noted that Adeleke's visit also served as an opportunity to discuss critical issues concerning peace, security, and the overall development of Osun State, especially after a period of electoral tension.

For the avoidance of doubt, the visit of Mr Governor and top members of his campaign team had absolutely nothing to do with a plan to move from Accord to the All Progressives Congress as being insinuated in certain quarters.

The council explicitly stated that the governor's visit had "absolutely nothing to do with a plan to move from Accord to the All Progressives Congress." They further clarified that the topic of defection was not raised during the discussions with President Tinubu. This clarification addresses growing speculation about Adeleke's political trajectory after his electoral success in Osun State.
