Adeleke visits Wike in Abuja after meeting Tinubu

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke continued his political engagements in Abuja on Thursday, meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The visit took place just days after Adeleke's re-election victory in the August 15 governorship election. Both men were photographed holding the governor’s Certificate of Return, a symbol of his renewed mandate. The image was shared on the social media platform X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who captioned it: “Governor Ademola Adeleke visits the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.”

This meeting followed an earlier engagement Adeleke had with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. During that visit, Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return to the President, underscoring the significance of his electoral success.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Adeleke the winner of the governorship election, having secured 511,067 votes. He decisively defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes. Adeleke's victory was broad, as he won in 19 out of the 30 local government areas within Osun State.
