Ahead of Central Java’s provincial games, PLN strengthens Candirejo tourism managers

Candirejo Tourism Village in Central Java is strengthening its tourism operations before the 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week, with a focus on safety and professional visitor services.

Strengthening the managers’ skills is important to ensure that Candirejo Tourism Village’s potential can develop sustainably. We hope this capacity-building will support the quality and safety of tourism services while bringing economic benefits to the surrounding community.

The training program, called PETIR, targets the village’s tourism awareness group and takes place at the Pesona Garda rafting destination. PT PLN’s Jamali Load Control Center supports the initiative through its Central Java and Yogyakarta unit. Organizers expect tourism demand to rise as Central Java hosts major events, including the provincial games in October 2026.

The program includes basic water-safety training, tour-guide instruction, general occupational safety training, and training and certification for rafting guides in cooperation with Three S Academy. PLN officials said stronger skills could improve service quality and safety while creating economic benefits for local residents.

Safety and service quality are important in managing rafting tourism. Through this training and certification, we hope the managers will have stronger skills and provide visitors with a sense of security and a quality tourism experience.

Muhammad Zamroni, head of the Candirejo tourism group, said the program had improved participants’ understanding of tourism safety and service. He said the training and certification would help the group manage Pesona Garda’s rafting activities more professionally and safely during the provincial games.
