AI and Data Working Group Holds Workshop in Jeju on Public Data Use

A significant workshop convened in Jeju, bringing together the AI and Data Working Group to deliberate on crucial aspects of public data utilization and AI policy collaboration. This gathering, hosted by the Korea Intelligence Information Society Agency (NIA) in Seogwipo City, Jeju, underscored the growing importance of data-driven innovation and artificial intelligence in South Korea's public sector.

The workshop saw participation from 15 organizations, comprising the nine core members of the AI and Data Working Group alongside relevant local institutions in Jeju. This collaborative environment fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas and best practices. The agenda was thoughtfully designed to encompass educational components, in-depth policy discussions, and practical ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, reflecting a holistic approach to leveraging data responsibly and ethically.

From the perspective of South Korean public institutions, this workshop represents a vital step in harmonizing national strategies for AI and data governance.
