AMAL and Malaysian Officers’ Club Deliver Aid to Sarae Naru Village

Residents of Sarae Naru village received food, water, children’s school supplies and emergency equipment from the Amanah Kemanusiaan Global Foundation, known as AMAL, and the Malaysian Officers’ Club.

The aid was prepared on Aug. 29 and delivered the following day. It included 350 kilograms of rice, 15 boxes of drinking water, snacks for children, pencils and drawing books. A 6-by-8-meter tent was also provided to serve as an emergency classroom for early-childhood education.

The organizations supplied additional equipment for local needs, including a water pump for drawing water from a well, a 32-ampere battery for lighting a command post and a 2-inch spiral hose.

The team left Labuan Bajo by road at about 10 a.m. on Aug. 30 and reached Bari after roughly six and a half hours. From there, members continued by boat to Sarae Naru. High waves and weather conditions made the sea journey difficult, but the team proceeded carefully.

The group arrived at about 5:30 p.m. and coordinated with local representatives. By around 7 p.m., the aid had been handed to village officials representing Kamsir for distribution to the intended recipients.
