Amanah Most Affected by Racial Politics, Says VP Adly Zahari

Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) bore the brunt of racial political narratives during the recent Negeri Sembilan state election, according to party Vice President Adly Zahari. He explained that Amanah, being a Malay-majority party within the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition and carrying an Islamic message, was particularly vulnerable to these tactics.

"So, it is certain that when we see the wave of racial politics, especially those related to Malays, Amanah is the most affected," Adly told reporters. He cited the loss of the DUN Klawang seat in Negeri Sembilan as an example, contrasting it with their earlier success in defending the DUN Simpang Jeram seat in Johor.

Despite the setback, Adly affirmed Amanah's commitment to bolstering Pakatan Harapan and enhancing future efforts. "Therefore, for us, Pakatan Harapan, value politics remains the core," he stated.

Adly also indicated that Amanah might adjust its strategy for the upcoming Melaka state election. He noted that opinions on their campaign approach during the previous election were divided, with some finding it too aggressive and others too defensive. Amanah aims to encourage voters to choose based on values like integrity, the PH government's management capabilities, and economic facts.
