No 'honeymoon period' for newly elected MCA assemblymen, says party president

MCA President Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong has made it clear that there will be no "honeymoon period" for the party's two newly elected state assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan. He emphasized that their responsibility to serve the public commenced the moment their victories were announced in the recent state elections.

Wee Ka Siong reminded both Siow Kong Choon, the assemblyman for Chennah, and Koh Kim Swee, the assemblyman for Repah, that their focus must immediately shift to serving their constituents. This directive underscores the party's expectation for immediate action and dedication from its elected representatives.

Simultaneously, the MCA president encouraged the five candidates who did not secure victory. He urged them to remain actively involved, assist the elected officials, and continue engaging with the people. This approach aims to maintain voter connection and acknowledge the efforts of all candidates and supporters.

The party achieved a significant milestone by securing representation in Negeri Sembilan after four consecutive state elections without a Barisan Nasional-MCA representative. Wee Ka Siong expressed gratitude to the voters for placing their trust in Barisan Nasional, particularly MCA, in the Chennah and Repah constituencies. He anticipates close collaboration between the newly elected representatives and the Negeri Sembilan state government, prioritizing the welfare and interests of the people.
