AMMK accuses Vijay’s TVK of ‘horse-trading’ over ‘forged’ support letter

AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran has accused TVK, led by actor-politician C Joseph Vijay, of engaging in 'horse-trading' and submitting a 'forged' support letter purportedly from an AMMK MLA, S Kamaraj. This dramatic turn of events unfolded as Dhinakaran claimed he was unable to contact his MLA and alleged that TVK was attempting to manipulate the situation to form the government.

Dhinakaran's allegations were made after he met with the Governor, Rajendra Arlekar, to request a probe into the matter. He stated that the letter submitted by TVK, which appeared to be a copy of his MLA's support, was a fabrication. "It appears that TVK has submitted what seems to be a copy of our MLA support letter, which is actually a forged letter," Dhinakaran told reporters. He further expressed his concern that TVK, knowing AMMK has only one MLA, sought to exploit this single seat for political gain. The Governor, according to Dhinakaran, took the complaint seriously and assured necessary action.

So, I have requested the governor to investigate the matter. We are also going to the police station to file a complaint regarding the forged letter issued in my MLA’s name.

However, the narrative took a sharp turn when TVK released a video that quickly went viral on social media. The video appeared to show MLA Kamaraj voluntarily writing a letter expressing support for TVK. TVK's social media post accompanying the video claimed that Kamaraj was extending support with the approval of TTV Dhinakaran himself and that the claims of forgery were false. This direct contradiction has intensified the political drama, leaving the public to question the veracity of the claims from both sides. The situation underscores the often-turbulent nature of coalition politics in Tamil Nadu, where alliances can be fragile and accusations of unethical practices are not uncommon.
