AMVCA 2026 voting closes ahead May 9 ceremony

The anticipation is building as voting for the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (#AMVCA12) has officially concluded. Africa Magic expressed gratitude to viewers for their enthusiastic participation in supporting their favorite nominees across various audience categories. The stage is now set for May 9th, when the winners will be unveiled during a live broadcast across all Africa Magic channels.

This year's edition promises to be a grand celebration of African cinema and television, featuring 32 categories. Notably, the organizers have expanded the awards' continental reach by introducing two new categories: Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language Film (Central Africa). This move underscores a commitment to recognizing and promoting the diverse linguistic and cultural expressions within African filmmaking.
