André do Prado Launches Senate Pre-Candidacy, Vows to Follow Eduardo Bolsonaro's Guidance

State Representative André do Prado officially launched his pre-candidacy for the Senate in São Paulo on Saturday, positioning himself within Governor Tarcísio de Freitas's slate. The event, held in Garulhos, aimed to consolidate support for Prado's senatorial bid, which has caused some internal friction within the broader Bolsonaro political movement.

Despite facing criticism from certain factions of the bolsonarismo, Prado managed to rally prominent figures from the right-wing. His campaign event featured Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, Governor Tarcísio, Senator Rogério Marinho, PL party president Valdemar Costa Neto, and Congressman Guilherme Derrite, who is also a pre-candidate for the Senate. São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes and other local Paulista politicians also attended, signaling a broad base of support.

In his address, Prado acknowledged the divisions within the bolsonarismo stemming from his selection. He appealed for unity, stating, "We must play as a team to win the elections and take care of São Paulo and Brazil." Eduardo Bolsonaro, participating via video call from the United States, reaffirmed his support, emphasizing that Prado would champion the right-wing agenda.

Governor Tarcísio credited Prado's work in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp) for his administration's achievements and urged attendees to win the "social media war." Flávio Bolsonaro engaged in his signature pre-campaign "dance," with Prado joining in. Prado expressed his intention to honor the right-wing platform under Eduardo Bolsonaro's guidance, acknowledging that the Senate seat was initially intended for Eduardo before his self-imposed exile and legal challenges in the U.S.
