Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro data among Hollywood stars allegedly exposed online

Personal data belonging to Hollywood stars like Angelina Jolie and Robert De Niro has reportedly been exposed online following a significant data breach. Cybersecurity expert Jeremiah Fowler discovered the alleged leak, which he claims includes private phone numbers and email addresses of numerous celebrities.

The compromised data is reportedly linked to the Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by De Niro. Fowler found four databases containing approximately 666,000 records spanning from 2019 to 2026. While most files contained marketing materials, one database allegedly held private contact details for famous individuals.

Fowler, who works for Black Hills Information Security, described the leak as "by far the largest collection of celebrity data I have ever seen." He noted that the data also included information about the devices used by these celebrities, such as their iPhone models and software versions, which could provide attackers with additional intelligence.

The Tribeca Film Festival was alerted to the breach days before its 2024 festival began on June 3. A spokesperson for the festival stated that they "take data security issues very seriously and are actively investigating this matter." The databases have since been removed, but it remains unclear how long the information was publicly accessible or who accessed it. There is no indication that the Tribeca Film Festival is responsible for the leak itself.
