Another Lithuanian Town Tired of One-Day Tourists

Trakai, a town famed for its picturesque castle and lakes, faces a growing problem: the overwhelming influx of day-trippers is degrading its charm. The town is increasingly resembling a less desirable seaside resort, with a notable absence of overnight visitors, according to Erik Murin, head of the "More" agency and a Trakai resident.

Murin draws a stark comparison between Trakai's current state and the perceived decline of popular Lithuanian seaside towns like Šventoji, or even budget resorts in Bulgaria.
