Gyeonggi Province is making significant strides in its commitment to renewable energy with the inauguration of a massive rooftop solar power plant at the LX Pantos logistics center in the Sihwa Multi-Techno Valley, Ansan. This facility, spanning an area equivalent to 2.5 football fields, represents a major step forward in the province's RE100 initiative, demonstrating a practical and scalable approach to clean energy generation within industrial zones.

The project's scale is impressive, with a 2.5MW capacity making it the largest direct power purchase agreement (PPA) rooftop solar installation in the province. By utilizing the vast, often underused, rooftop space of industrial facilities, Gyeonggi Province is transforming its manufacturing heartland into a hub for renewable energy production. This innovative strategy is particularly crucial in the Seoul metropolitan area, where land for new energy projects is scarce.
