Apartments with SPA to be built on Klaipėda's coast

Klaipėda municipality has granted a construction permit for a new development on Šlaito Street, which will feature apartments and a spa complex.

The project, planned by the Klaipėda real estate company 'Eligus,' involves the construction of three resort buildings and one apartment building, all linked by a single underground parking facility. The development is slated for phased construction, with the initial phase focusing on a four-story building designed for short-term rentals and spa services. 'Eligus' CEO Eligijus Rupšlaukis anticipates the completion of this first building by 2028.

Construction is expected to be completed in phases – first, a four-story building with apartments for short-term rental and SPA treatment rooms should appear.

According to project proposals prepared in 2024, the three resort buildings are expected to house a total of 206 apartments, alongside 50 additional apartments in the multi-unit building. 'Eligus' is also undertaking the renovation of a nearby historic building, formerly the Queen Louise sanatorium and a children's tuberculosis hospital, which is registered in the Register of Cultural Values. Following renovation, this building is planned to become a small 4- or 5-star hotel, also scheduled for completion in 2028.

The 4.5-hectare plot, acquired by 'Eligus' in 2017, is envisioned to become a resort town. Future plans may include a hotel with an expanded spa area, further leveraging the natural coastal advantages of the location. The company, managed by two individuals, aims to transform the area into a comprehensive tourist destination.
