APC alleges thugs imported into government house ahead of Osun election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign media committee in Osun, Nigeria, has sounded an alarm over the alleged influx of political thugs into the government house less than 24 hours before the governorship election.

According to Mr. Kehinde Ayantunji, who spoke on behalf of the committee, these individuals were reportedly brought in from Lagos, led by figures identified by the codenames Olowe and Iberu. Ayantunji claims they are being accommodated by the Governor and his team, with the intention of disrupting the electoral process, particularly in Osogbo and surrounding areas, should the results not favor the incumbent party.

He detailed the vehicles allegedly used to transport these individuals, including specific license plate numbers. The APC asserts it possesses photographic evidence to support its claims.

The APC's intelligence suggests the primary targets for destabilization are Ward 5 in Osogbo Local Government and Wards 4 and 8, along with the towns of Okini, Ido-Osun, and Ofatedo in Egbedore Local Government. The party has publicly alerted the public and the international community, calling on security agencies to act. Ayantunji expressed frustration, questioning why security agents appear helpless to arrest the alleged thugs within the government house premises. The APC holds Governor Ademola Adeleke accountable for shielding these individuals and warns that he will be responsible for any harm to voters or party members on election day.

Therefore, we are telling the international community, to the security agents in Nigeria, and to all stakeholders that have anything to do with the Osun election, that if anything happens to our members tomorrow, or any electorate, Governor Ademola Adeleke should be held responsible for shielding political thugs in the government house.
