Speculation about divisions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been firmly rebuffed by a significant bloc of the party's governors. Following reports suggesting a move to replace the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, 18 governors elected on the APC platform have publicly declared their unwavering support for his leadership.

We don’t have any problem to justify what they have said. So, I want to seize this opportunity to move a vote of confidence in our chairman and his deputy.

This strong show of confidence was demonstrated after a closed-door meeting at the Imo Lodge, where the governors collectively passed a vote of no confidence in the rumors of leadership change and reaffirmed their commitment to Uzodinma and his deputy, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. The governors present, representing a broad spectrum of states, emphasized the unity and strength of the APC, dismissing the alleged leadership tussle as an "unfortunate story" that has no basis in reality. This collective stance aims to project an image of a cohesive party, united behind President Bola Tinubu's agenda.

What I can say here is that all of us woke up to that very unfortunate story, which was virtually in all the media in Nigeria. But the truth of the matter is that the APC Progressive Governors’ Forum is very united.
