APC national vice chair Kekemeke eyes Ondo senatorial seat

Isaacs Kekemeke, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and currently serving as the National Vice Chairman (South-West), has officially announced his ambition to represent the Ondo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election. This declaration comes after considerable encouragement and persistent calls from party leaders, women's groups, and youth organizations across the district, who believe Kekemeke possesses the necessary competence, integrity, and capacity to deliver effective representation.

This then is my declaration: After due consultation with the governor of the state, who is the leader of the party, and other leaders, I have decided to take up the gauntlet. I shall seek the ticket of our great party for the senatorial election and I shall, when I win, give to the senatorial district fair, fearless, quality and needs-driven representation.

Kekemeke's decision was not made lightly. He has engaged in thorough consultations with key stakeholders, notably the state governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is the leader of the party in Ondo State. This alignment with the state leadership underscores a unified approach to the upcoming senatorial contest. Kekemeke expressed his readiness to serve again, stating, "This then is my declaration: After due consultation with the governor of the state, who is the leader of the party, and other leaders, I have decided to take up the gauntlet."

With a rich political resume that includes serving as Minority Leader in the old Ondo State House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Commissioner for Works, Lands and Housing, Kekemeke is well-equipped for the role. His tenure as APC State Chairman was instrumental in building the party's structure. Now, as National Vice Chairman, he aims to bring "fair, fearless, quality and needs-driven representation" to Abuja, emphasizing a "people first" approach. He seeks to be a strong voice for Ondo South, promising tangible results and visible representation.
