Oyo APC chieftain declares gov ambition

Oyedele Alao, a distinguished Civil Engineer with extensive experience in the global Oil and Gas sector and a prominent figure in Oyo State's political landscape, has officially declared his candidacy for the 2027 governorship election. Operating from the Sultanate of Oman, Alao's decision to vie for the top political office in Oyo State stems from extensive consultations with party elders and direct interactions with residents across the state, who he believes are yearning for "redemption."

Alao's campaign, branded "Redemption Mission 2027," is anchored on a robust four-point development agenda: agriculture, healthcare, education, and civil service reform. He envisions transforming Oyo State, once a "Pacesetter" and "headquarters of democracy," back into a leading region. His agricultural proposals include transitioning from subsistence farming to a modern, profitable enterprise through mechanization, improved financing, and value-chain development, aiming to make Oyo a regional food basket.
