APC unveils consensus 2027 governorship candidate in Gombe

In a significant move consolidating its political front, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has formally announced Dr. Jamilu-Isiyaku Gwamna as its consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election. This decision, reached after broad consultations among party stakeholders, signals a unified approach by the APC to retain power in the state.

This decision is a product of broad-based consultations and agreement among key stakeholders across the state. “It demonstrates our unity of purpose and collective resolve to consolidate on the gains we have recorded over the years,” Yahaya said.

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, who also serves as the party's leader in Gombe, chaired the enlarged stakeholders' meeting where the endorsement took place. He lauded the selection of Gwamna, characterizing it as a testament to the party's internal unity and its collective commitment to continuing the developmental progress achieved under the current administration. Governor Yahaya highlighted Gwamna's qualifications, describing him as a seasoned politician and technocrat with strong grassroots support, capable of leading the party to victory.

Accepting the nomination, Dr. Gwamna conveyed his deep appreciation to the party leadership and stakeholders for their trust. He pledged to uphold the developmental agenda of the incumbent administration and propel Gombe State to greater heights. The meeting also saw the ratification of consensus candidates for all senatorial districts, House of Representatives seats, and State House of Assembly constituencies, further solidifying the APC's electoral strategy for the upcoming general elections.
