At Al-Ikhlas Mosque, Indonesia’s deputy police chief calls for prayers for the nation’s safety

At a Maulid Nabi gathering at Al-Ikhlas Mosque at Indonesia’s national police headquarters in Jakarta, Deputy National Police Chief Dedi Prasetyo called on the police family to pray for the safety of the nation, the public and officers serving in the field.

The joint prayer, held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, asked for protection from disasters and other dangers. Preacher KH Taufiqurrahman led the prayer and referred to disasters including volcanic eruptions. He urged worshippers to ask for safety for people in affected areas and for Indonesia to be spared further disasters.

For our brothers and sisters who are currently facing the ordeal of disasters, may Allah SWT grant them patience and ease during the recovery period. Likewise, for all police personnel who are always present to serve the public amid difficult circumstances, may every dedication and sincerity in your duties be recorded as a good deed and may you always remain under His protection.

The gathering also remembered people who had lost their homes and possessions. Prayers asked that they receive patience and strength, and that they be granted better provision. Those who had died were remembered with prayers for forgiveness, mercy, a honored place with God and recognition as martyrs.

He highlighted the Prophet’s reputation for honesty, justice and concern for the weak and oppressed. Dedi urged members of the Bhayangkara police to send more blessings upon the Prophet and apply those values in their work as protectors, guides and servants of the public. He also prayed for police officers who continue serving communities during difficult circumstances.
